All persons are entitled to the monthly lump sum for care aids who:
- have a recognized care level 1 to 5.
- are cared for in their own homes, either by relatives or volunteer caregivers.
- are a member of a statutory long-term care insurance fund.
Privately insured persons can also make a claim, but should check the exact conditions with their insurance company.
The lump sum covers care aids intended for consumption, including:
- Disposable gloves: For hygienic care procedures.
- Disinfectant: For hands and surfaces to prevent infections.
- Bed protection pads: To protect the mattress from moisture.
- Face mask: To protect against the transmission of diseases.
- Protective aprons: For hygienic working during care.
- Finger cots: For selective care procedures
